Located in the Catalan city of Reus, the Gaudí Centre celebrates the creative genius of Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. A colourful highlight of the museum’s ground floor is a permanent exhibit showcasing the heritage of Lluís Domènech i Montaner – a key figure alongside Gaudí in the region’s influential Modernism movement around the turn of the 20th century.

As part of a major renovation project, the Gaudí Centre wanted to modernise the space by creating a truly immersive audiovisual experience for visitors. What’s more, the museum needed an AV solution that reduced the running costs and maintenance overheads of traditional projectors while delivering colourful, high-impact images with stunning picture quality.

Big, bright images plus low ownership costs
The impressive brightness, image clarity and reliability of the VPL-FHZ55 3LCD laser projector made it an obvious choice for the Gaudí Centre’s appointed Spanish AV integrator Sono Tecnología Audiovisual.

The projector’s laser light source allows approximately 20,000 hours of uninterrupted operation – around ten years in normal use. Eliminating the need for regular lamp replacement, the VPL-FHZ55 dramatically reduces routine maintenance needs while cutting the risk of unscheduled downtime in the event of sudden lamp failure during opening hours.

Exhibition visitors are also assured a spectacular viewing experience by the projector’s 4000 lumen brightness and WUXGA resolution for bright, detail-packed images with high contrast and rich colours.
